The Challenge

Provide lone-worker protection for field employees.

In order to facilitate the member vetting process, staff travel alone to meet with applicants. This leaves them vulnerable in the event of an emergency.

Checkatrade required a solution that makes use of existing devices, removing the need for expensive dedicated hardware and additional mobile phone contracts. The solution must allow workers to raise the alarm, as well as check in at certain intervals and provide visibility of their location.

The Solution

Checkatrade chose the Checkon.me lone working platform and smartphone application. Employees are able to make use of their existing company phones, which combined with the Checkon.me app become a powerful lone-worker safety device. The service is self-administered via the checkon.me customer portal allowing Checkatrade to accommodate new starters as they grow.

With a professional call center at their disposal, Checkatrade opted to self-monitor, with alarms delivered to nominated groups of personnel via SMS, email and voice call. This offered a significant cost saving over alternative solutions.
